What
is 100 Book Challenge?
The 100 book challenge is a systematic independent reading program that puts
reading achievement at the front of school and home. The students read
at least 15 minutes everyday in school from a selection of books that
they are assigned to. These books are at their “just right” reading
level. “Just right” means that they are able to read the books
independently with no problem. For every fifteen minutes they read they
have completed one step. We also ask the students to read for at-least
15 minutes at home every night.
If you see
your child reading at home,
for every fifteen minutes that they have read
please sign one step in their log.
Please encourage your child to read to at home.
Remember - the more they read the better they will become!
